RCD TESTING & FAULT FINDING

“Residual Current Device’s (RCD) also known as safety switches, are designed to trip (turn off) when current leakage is detected.  These safety switches are installed to protect users from problems such as:

• Faulty appliances,

• Water in electrical fittings, and

• Rodent damage to cables.

With our RCD Testing & Fault Finding service Suncoast Power is capable of fault finding all items from your tripping power circuit or your failed ceiling fan to your automated process plants with VSD and PLC controls. 

RCD testing is the process of safely & ’tripping’ your residual current devices to ensure that it operates quickly should there be an electrical incident. This can also be referred to as safety switch testing. Your RCD is designed to switch off all the power to that circuit. The quicker a RCD trips, the smaller the electrical shock sustained by an individual. Push button testing of your RCD is additionally required under Australian Standards on a 6 monthly basis. this may be completed by one of our qualified electricians.
